About
Our Story
Founded in 1978 by Craig Metzler, a former Naval submarine electronics technician, Progressive Electronics Inc. was built on a foundation of unparalleled service in low-voltage electronics.
Craig’s extensive experience aboard a nuclear submarine and his forward-thinking vision led him to establish a company that prides itself on continuously evolving and focusing on cutting-edge electronic solutions.
The company became a part of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) in 1982, which facilitated expansion into larger projects with a skilled union workforce. Over the past four decades, Progressive Electronics Inc. has been instrumental in numerous landmark projects in the Kansas City area. Notable contributions include installations at One Kansas City Place, Bartle Hall, Union Station, Kansas Speedway, Garmin World Headquarters, and many more significant sites.
Under the leadership of Christopher Metzler, Progressive Electronics Inc. continues to serve the commercial low-voltage market with excellence. Our team consists of highly trained technicians holding various certifications, including NICET Levels 4 through 2, BICSI RCDD, AVIXA CTS-D and CTS-I, along with expertise in systems from Crestron to QSYS. As a proud member of IBEW #124, NFPA, NSCA, and AVIXA, we remain committed to maintaining the highest standards of service and professional integrity.
